good use for an old box

{made by me monday}
When I attended Arizona GNO a couple of months ago, we all got to take home swag bags/boxes. I didn't want to just throw out the box because it was too good, so I kept it. I knew I would find something useful for it. Wellll... I DID!! Recently, my Young Women were mentioning how we need a CUTE box to put all of our Personal Progress treats in. Whenever the girls finish a requirement, they turn in their coupon and get to "buy" something from the Personal Progress box. Since I've been called as YW president, I've just been taking this box to Young Women's with me full of goodies, until today. One of the girls saw the box and mentioned that it would be cuter if I decorated it! Did someone say DECORATE?! :) Here is the plain white box with some of the things that I have planned to go on it...
first, I'll show you how I made this super simple flower! hot glue all of the layers as you go, add a polka dot on top... done!
CUTE!
next, I wanted to add some scrapbook paper to each side with brads in each corner. I found a tip to putting a little hole in spots where your hole puncher can't reach...
use a pin.
I added brads on each corner of each piece of scrapbook paper on ALL sides of the box.
I added a few little signs to the box to personalize it and hot glued the flower on.
 I thought it would be cute to stain the sides of the box, since they are so white. Just a little stain does the trick
 and VIOLA!
 I love it!
Now we have something super cute to put our Personal Progress treats in... my girls will be happy! You could do this same thing for chore treats, good behavior, a gift box, anything!
total time spent: 30 minutes
total money spent: $0
